Khurshid is a reputed classical Indian dancer, choreographer, director, researcher and teacher. She was awarded a Doctorate in Fine Arts (Dance) and an Honours Bachelor of Science by the University of Mumbai. Besides giving solo Bharata Natyam performances on stage and television in India, Australia, Canada and USA, she has scripted, choreographed and directed dance ballets on Indian spiritual and mythological themes. She has intensely researched the ancient Sanskrit manuscripts on Indian dance, philosophy and culture and has conducted expeditions to ancient Indian temple sites. Khurshid has been teaching Bharata Natyam in India since 1975 and had four dance classes in Mumbai. She is currently teaching Bharata Natyam in Adelaide. She also conducts workshops and performances for universities, schools, community and charitable organisations in Adelaide. She has had many press interviews and telecasts on Indian Doorshan and Australian TV networks of her solo performances and dance ballets choreographed and presented by her over the years.
